Tax and National Insurance
Following a change in the law from 6th April 2014 all Artistes are self employed for tax and National Insurance and therefore responsible for dealing with their own NI contributions and Income Tax. The exception to this is when from time to time productions put Artistes on contract for longer runs, in which case they will be treated as PAYE employees of the production. If this does happen 15% commission of their earnings is payable to Celebrity Booker Casting Limited.
The status of the assignment shall be agreed before the job proceeds. Either Supporting Artist, Walk-on Artist or Featured Artist. If this status is found to be different after completion then the artiste may be entitled to be upgraded.
During the course of the job all artistes’ employment status will be dependent upon the specific contract with the production company. Nothing in this agreement shall render artistes to be employees of Celebrity Booker in any way. Celebrity Booker will act as an agency for the artists.
Health and Safety
On set booked Artists are the responsibility of the production company (the employer). The production company must have suitable employers liability and public liability in place to cover Artistes. Health and Safety is of paramount importance and is the responsibility of the production company (the employer). It is essential that working practices are maintained at all times. A failure to comply with Health and Safety regulations shall constitute a material irremediable breach of this agreement. Relevant Health and Safety information must be relayed to the Artist in line with the Employment Agencies Act 1973.
If a booking is cancelled after 5.30pm the day before an assignment, a cancellation fee will be charged of the basic daily rate. A failure by any artiste to comply with the Production Company’s Health and Safety Policy shall constitute a material irremediable breach of this agreement.
All payments must be made to Celebrity Booker casting Ltd to our client account. If an artiste is paid directly Celebrity Booker reserve the right to still invoice the production company.
